Teaching

What have teachers got to do with music? Well the answer is: everything.

– Leonard Bernstein

Teachers can have a significant impact on the musical potential of a person. In the case of the piano, many of the methods by which we learn to play, particularly in the classical genre, have remained unchanged for decades, if not centuries. Approaches to learning which could be improved upon have remained unchanged for the sake of convention. Perhaps the most important thing a person can do in the study of an instrument is to learn how to practise.

It’s meaningful to me to help someone who wishes to play the piano. I work with students of all ages, to whom I’m able to pass on my knowledge, ranging from beginners to the very advanced. I give lessons at my home, online, and I’m also happy to travel to your home if it’s more suitable. If you’re interested in having lessons, feel free to contact me.
